So I recently picked up Muramasa: The Demon Blade again and finished Kisuke’s storyline. As ever, I find this game incredible. Amazing soundtrack, amazing visuals, great gameplay. Nice difficulty too. I’ve been playing on Shura (hard mode) and it’s been just right. So anyway, I completed Kisuke’s story, so now I’m moving on and doing Momohime’s story.
And there was some hilarity during Act 2 I thought: Momohime’s second level is a brothel.
I always find it funny when someone tries to censor something without taking out any of the elements that make it painfully obvious what’s really going on. In this case, I don’t think the creators of Muramasa were trying to censor it so much as failed to make it clear due to how lacking the dialogue in this game can be. But yeah, regardless of the reason for being so vague, it totally was and it was also a brothel. Continue reading
This is the latest of the Skyward Sword Dungeons series I’m doing on Zelda Dungeon (analyzing all the dungeons in-depth, going over them in order). I realize I’ve neglected to link to most of them, so continue reading to view the full current list with links. Continue reading
Now that I’ve finished dumping all my fanfiction (plus one original story) on here, I made the new Stories page, which is pretty much exactly like the Articles one. From now one all writing I publish here on AxletheBeast.com will be new, and not something you’ve probably read before. =P
I’ve also added a YouTube subscribe button to the right sidebar and will continue to make some more changes to it over the next few days. Keep an eye on it. 😉
Dissolution, Chapter 1: Rebel Spirit (Original Story)
I came up with this based on a theme requested by “K4KING” on ZeldaDungeon.net’s forums. He suggested writing about angels being perceived as evil and demons being perceived as good, without actually swapping their true alignments. I liked the idea and this is what I came up with, and I’m definitely going to write more on this. I shoved a good bit of lightly symbolic stuff in here… some of it corresponding to my own beliefs. I don’t mean this to be anti-religious in any sense… kinda the opposite actually.
Also you have no idea how many times I accidentally misspelled “Joseph” as “Jospeh” and had to fix it during editing. xD Credit to milos for the stock photo I used for the preview image. Continue reading
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Humorous Fanfiction)
…Yeah I’m not sure what’s wrong with me. This was a gift fanfiction I wrote for a member of ZeldaDungeon.net’s forums for a Secret Santa event we did over December. Each of the participants was randomly given another one to do a gift for, and we’d make a gift for them in secret before it was given to them by the event’s organizer.
It’s… pretty crazy. It’s intended as a humorous fanfic and isn’t at all serious. It’s basically a parody of most of the romantic relationships in Skyward Sword, or implied/possible relationships. It’s written as though it’s some kind of essay because… I don’t know. Continue reading
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (Oneshot Humor Fanfiction)
For those who don’t know what a ChuChu looks like. Heh, I know this is really weird. I posted a theme request thread on the ZeldaDungeon.net forums, and asked for people to supply me with writing themes (they didn’t have to only be about Zelda). I’ve sorta lagged on completing most of them, but this is the first one I’ve finished. Jedizora asked me to write a story about a ChuChu and what it thinks, and since ChuChus are my favorite Zelda creature, I was overjoyed. xD
This is based on The Wind Waker, which should be obvious to anyone reading it who’s played the game. The “rather large bird” would be the Helmaroc King, and the two girls who get kidnapped would be Mila and Maggie.
Hachi (MireilleNu on deviantART) made this awesome fanart of Maxwell! :3 Continue reading
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time (Shortfic)
This WCC entry was for the “Water Temple” theme, and is exactly 300 words (I had trouble keeping under the limit on this one). Naturally, if I was going to write about the Water Temple, I had to pick creepiness and Morpha as the base concept. 8D
Essentially this is years after Ocarina of Time, and Ruto has taken a bunch of zora kids to the Water Temple (likely to teach them of its importance), and while they’re there she tries to spook them with a story about Morpha but ends up dredging up her own fears. Given that I have somewhat of a fear of the water, I can totally relate to Ruto’s anxiety. xD Continue reading
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Shortfic)
Another WCC (Writing Community Competition) entry, limited to 100-300 words, and the theme was “Zelda Items”, so I chose the Megaton Hammer. The story is essentially about the original Goron hero who used the Megaton Hammer to defeat Volvagia the first time, long before Ocarina of Time. Essentially, in this fic only the hammer itself could defeat the dragon. No actual warriors were good enough. But the only person who could actually lift the weight of the hammer wasn’t a hero or even a warrior; just a simple miner. Sadly, this WCC had no other participants, so I didn’t win even though I mine was the only entry. Continue reading
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (Shortfic)
This fanfiction has spoilers for Link’s Awakening. Spoils the ending.
Also submitted to a community competition on the ZeldaDungeon.net forums (with a max of 300 words allowed). This time the theme was “Rivals”, although I got confused between the actual title of the theme and the explanation of it I was given so I ended up writing something totally off-topic. Because of that, and the fact that my lone competitor entered something really good, I had to give it to him.
Basically just my unique brief version of the Nightmares from Link’s Awakening, writing in a trippy style talking all about their nature as dream monsters. xD Continue reading
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Speculative Shortfic)
This was a Zelda fanfiction I wrote for a Community Competition on the ZeldaDungeon.net forums. The theme was “Master Sword” if I recall, and I could only use a max of 300 words. In the end I basically chose to write about Skyward Sword. This was a while before E3 2011, so I didn’t have any real information about the game, just that Fi was the sword. Oh well. 😛 Continue reading
